Title:  It's 5:00 pm.....Where are the Hosts? :)

Glennbo here with my second cruise report!  No, No, No.....don't be scared - yet!  (wait until my 5th or 6th cruise, and I REALLY get to know you all - then you can be scared :)

Destination:  Swantown Marina in Olympia.  I left Thursday after work, and arrived around 7:30 pm.  the evening was peaceful and uneventful (with the exception of the M's breaking their 9 game losing streak!).

Friday morning and early afternoon were spent puttering around the dock, and reading (it's TRULY amazing how "doing nothing" can feel so good!).  I started looking for people to show up around noon or so.  1:00 came and went.  2:00 came and went, and I was getting worried that I had the wrong weekend.  Fred, Margo and Jessie Majewski showed up around 3:00, and my fears that I don't know how to read a simple calendar were soon put to rest.  Others started showing up in the next few hours.  In no particular order (as I'd had more than a few Hard Lemonades by then) were The Baugh's, The Catalano's, The Ashley's, The Daymond's, Jana Brown & crew, and the Ahladis'.  One question was first out of everyone's mouth....Where's Shirl and Mabel?

Now not having met the Gilbert's yet, it limited my ability to come up with plausible excuses, but I did my best:  They were here at noon, and a huge UFO came down and plucked them up to outer space.  They were here at noon, but had a call from The President, and rushed off in the name of national security.  They ARE here, Shirl just bought a new "cloaking device" for the boat, and they are invisible.  :)

Mabel finally made it to the docks, ,and she quickly explained that Shirl was 3 time zones away earlier in the day!  Heck, that's good enough reason for me, and when he did make it in, I'm surprised he didn't have both Jet AND Boat lag! :)

The rest of the evening was spent on the dock, catching up with everyone and putting up decorations (including my "Absolutely Pathetic" attempt :)     At one point, Nancy and Suzanne thought it would be OK if I took Mattie and Dibley for a little swim - well it was "little" for them, they hardly made it 20 feet from shore before turning back.  The water felt very good on the warm evening, though, and I made it around the dock without drowning!

Saturday morning and afternoon everyone was pretty much on their own.  Most made a trip up to the Farmer's Market and Carnival/Boothes of Lakefair.  Everyone was back on the docks around 4 for some pre-dinner drinking before heading up to shore for the feast.  The SRCC was joined by the Emerald-Rose Cruising Club for dinner.  Everyone seemed to have a good time, and it was great getting to know the members of the other club!  Of course, Tony Roma's was the highlight of the night!  Shirl and Mabel graciously made sure everyone had plenty to eat (which meant they had to wait for the second batch).  After a few kids games were played, it was time for the adults to strut their stuff.......on the Badmitton Court!!! All I can say is that I'm glad there were no major injuries! :)

We adjourned to the dock to wind up the evening.  What followed was probably one of the most ingenious games I've ever seen (at least from the viewpoint of keeping kids busy, and tiring them out at the same time).  Ladies and Gentleman, I give you "The Princess Karen Game"!!  I couldn't even begin to explain it to you, so I won't.  Let's just say that the terms Kara Wedgie, Hubba Hubba and The Boom Chicka Chicka were involved ---- Need I Say More???

The night ended around 1 am.  I want to thank Karen and Jeff for taking pity on me and staying up that late and not letting me drink alone :)

Sunday was "Gramma" day!  Karen's grandmother came for a visit, and we all went to a fabulous brunch......well......almost all of us!  Mark forgot to drink his water, and take his aspirin after drinking from the bottomless wine glass - so he didn't quite make it to brunch :)

All in all, another VERY successful cruise!  I'll see everyone in Poulsbo at the end of the month.  As usual, please feel free to bring along your single attractive female friends! ;)
