Born and raised in Bremerton Washington, I’ve had an interest in boating for as long as I can remember. One of my first experiences in boating was early morning fishing trips with my Dad and Uncle off Point-no-Point. We would troll for hours on end sipping on hot chocolate and coffee. My Dad taught me all there is to know about fishing. You can find me exercising my fishing skills at the supermarket or any fine dining establishment. I joined the United States Air Force in November 1972, and spent four years active duty as a fire protection specialist. Upon completing my tour of duty, I hired on as a civilian firefighter at McChord AFB. There I spent the next twenty-eight years of my working life, finishing the last three years as the Base Fire Chief. Heidi and I met in 1979 and eventually married on June 12, 1982 in Tacoma Washington. We have two Sons a Daughter, and five grandchildren. Our first boat was a 16’ 1967 Pacific Mariner with a Johnson 75 horse motor. We would drop her in at Redondo for trips across to Maury Island to enjoy the sandy beaches below an abandon gravel pit. Heidi did not care for this little hot rod so we upgraded to a Mirage 220 Antiqua in 1986. The Mirage provided everything necessary to enjoy a weekend on the Sound, except headroom. In 1993 we entered into the Sea Ray family with the purchase of a 290 Sundancer which we aptly named “Backdraft”. Still looking for that “perfect” boat, we bought our 330 Sundancer in 1996. I believe that we have found the perfect boat, as she is named “E’NUF”. |
