Apology Part 2

To those of you who checked the website folder for a June newsletter and never found one, my apologies.  To those of you who looked for a July newsletter, here it is, written before the first cruise of August.

Port Ludlow Cruise Report June 20 - 22, 2003

When the cruise captains are British and the cruise theme is James Bond 007, the cruise turns out to be a smashing good time.  Bond has his high-tech gadgets, and so did this cruise.  Joe Ahladis and Cruise Captain Mark Daymond brought enough gadgets from home and work to project a James Bond movie onto a screen hung on the side of Release.  A few shaken, not stirred, martinis and some popcorn were consumed along the way.

Saturday provided a few hours of rain, sometimes hard, that started just after a three-dinghy flotilla departed for a tour of scenic Mats Mats Bay.  The participants returned, damp but undaunted, having achieved their objective of seeing the bay.  Several other cruisers enjoyed a round of golf on the nearby links.

Saturdays dinner featured barbecued meats, cooked by Cruise Captain Suzanne Daymond on a large grill provided by the marina, and pot luck side dishes.  The last rain shower of the weekend encouraged togetherness under the covered area that was intended to hold only the serving tables.

Sunday, as it usually is, was going home day.  The memories live on in the pictures that you can view on the SRCC web site.

Poets Cove Cruise Report July 3 - 6, 2003

This was the first time that the Sea Ray Cruising Club had left the country on an official club cruise.  The destination was the Poets Cove Seaside Resort (formerly Bedwell Harbour Island Resort and Marina) in Bedwell Harbour, South Pender Island, B.C.  In spite of the fancy new name, this is the same marina, adjacent to the customs dock, that has been there forever.  The new resort is creating significant new facilities, and they were supposed to be open for this cruise.  However, construction is months behind schedule, leaving us with |*S"#|'E|5ȑ,h^OfjNyNu.0Hߟ^iFuID-*tRiJqZ_kmOEv3Q usT(47潁nG|HpCJ*X4Fr?ŤIr+;^GđT*"=W.t YTjӆTC8pP= u"&@! *_E"^@ӹp+7hsDBR"O: aGK+uPWV hstaP+Nݣ/M*ZB۞9 \2o\]:g} +L w@8:FT5fa489lꋱ $H FDc,1RuBD$vN7rZIzl) D@J&ǡM'x Lx4awpoƔ_;+D,xv*{DyyV]ۙ j(w 1s*eGeL4Tx?͜u3eЭe6GfL{?n:vZp3Xrl>ӻK/R^Z!j,^?Gərɀ@ cL8+\J|7|ch"۱Ok5[>c *bdv>{݉7x7\ flo }Rfym`Wvp-M`)(ysu}ay _3uRuBd 0օOŋ:=u}15XA)rFo0N#^m/V4LJ@dP5cpj92o}?ʂmO1Ot=_j6Z277cE9-V#5[,I0]mQ5.bIcϟ;[ɹU~r-#zn#m߷T/MVpfM=ǷVIPo=I*Ϙ_ø,SN~n>ĈoyaW23QCu!jR38lMIQAk_ 0>b[FGp_y Ť#=˓"9,=w "6K ͲzZ(7=H; 3)p_?+MfR=~Ke(]!f o %;dvZ:JԽt*rn9O]P#Tg]#~ `mޘRB7z<\[m٣KU:B%d%~>sGJ0eCSѶſ^Kz{ ~s3&&tr 0P!r^"\-.1;q688n{:ϝ!1E辥'.n aXcda#h ό&y ُV ѻd@* prLvY \l٢-2?{Mk<Xvg` ]?zw#m!(]ɉfdn;+ g"W[U^Q:IPh&xrl DftBw{=mYR:֪4񓗙'S8'.>Ӈކ?3[pcuP.wZ#wXnGk7yͤ+.#{e2e>hx ^+^(}68.lp" style="margin-left: .7in">This is Labor Day weekend.  Pat and Judy Beatie are cruise captains.
