CAPTAINS LOG
Stardate June 11-13 Port Ludlow
Cruise Theme: James Bond martinis shaken not stirred
We have named this cruise the James Bond 007 Event but the truth be known its an
all out attempt to do some serious bruising to a lot of gin.
Just when ya thought you might have had too much fun on the Memorial Day cruise
Mark and Suzanne Daymond came along a raised the bar.
Cruise captains Mark and Suzanne Daymond always put on an affair to rival any
Bond would attend, right down to the Pimms with all the trimmings. Oh yes there
were some martinis, in fact some of the martinis were found in the strangest
places a diamond studded water pistol and a field canteen. Of course those
little oddities were part and parcel of the best dressed at the affair.
The people in this club can make a cloudy rainy day turn bright.
Friday evening for all those who have arrived and those who are arriving
fashionably late there was finger food on the dock with the full compliment of
Martinis and a tub of Pimms. That tub not to be mistaken from some of the
Martini glasses I spied that were big enough to be a bath tub. Saturday nite
was the all out go for it pot luck dinner and costume competition.
The evening turned a bit nasty with the liquid stuff falling. Our gracious and
always prepared cruise captains invited the flotilla bag, baggage, booty and
larder to their condominium for the dinner festivities. As always there was
enough food for another cruise club and a developing nation. Of course the fare
was great. By the way the ribs Suzanne were absolutely the best I have ever
had, that remark was heard time and again throughout the evening.
Karen Ashley (aka Ineeda Longtool, Mona Loudly, Dixie Normous and Pussy
Fitzwell) was hands down the most and best bedecked Bond Girl. The blonde doo
right down to the pink diamond studded water pistol stuffed in her garter, of
course filled with Martinis, Karens ammo.
On the other hand we have James Bomb (aka Augie Catalano) in true form, dangling
from his field pack were the illuminated martini glass grenades and the canteen
filled with of course shaken and not stirred.
Mark and Suzanne were taken out of the competition but deserve hoots for their
great outfits. For Mark the shortie wet suit and Tux shirt with diving mask
would make any bond girl want to fall into his arms, of course in a steamy
shower. Suzanne stepped right out of the Casbah.

NEW MEMBERS
Glenn Moller
Andy and Sallie Majewski with crew Dilan and Carson
Now Andy and Sallie knew what they were getting into when they joined the club.
Mom and Dad, Fred and Margot are active members. But Glenn on the other hand
was a great sport on his first cruise. From time to time I could see the look
of bewilderment while he's muttering to himself "are these people for real"?
The bewilderment faded quickly and Glenn became one of us. Sinking to the
lowest common denominator is so easy!
Welcome aboard to crew Moller and the Majewskis
TO CRAB OR NOT TO CRAB
We have a Great White hunter among us, or maybe we call him Red. Phil and
Debbie Freund are master crabbers. Tye and Marlene are quickly picking up the
art (it will improve when Tye gets the hang of pot mechanics). Big Red (Leigh
Bauer) was crabbing in the same area and swears "there isn't a crab in Puget
Sound". Now Leigh I saw the pot of crab Phil and Tye were cooking I'll bet
there were 15 in the pot. Do ya spose they flew them in from Alaska.
Leigh succeeded in totally frustrating every crab that happened upon his pot,
seems his pot was closed for business when it landed on the bottom. He saved a
lot of bait.
To all my cruising friends. Thanks for the memories they are priceless and so
are you.
Until the next cruise
